The policeman who spooked the other day came to check on Yuuma. Meanwhile, Yuuma started his forty-second ghost story of scarecrow town. Scarecrow town is a well-known place for scarecrows in all of Japan. He was passing by, and suddenly a stranger stopped him & asked for help to clean up the scarecrow despite how heavy it was.  

When he mentions that he doesn’t make these scarecrows, but someone keeps coming through and leaving them as he can find the use of them so he doesn’t have to worry about it, the protagonist enters his room where all scarecrows are getting piled up.

Yuuma came home and found out that his dad’s favorite vase was broken by his dad himself. He threw it on the floor as he got pissed off because he took it for appraisal and was told that it was worthless. He went out again and found one more scarecrow standing in the middle of the road. He went into that stranger’s room to check if he knew something about the scarecrows.

Yuuma happened to find a list of missing people whom he quickly recognized, and their faces matched exactly to those scarecrows standing behind him in that room. He tried to escape from there as soon as he realized all that, but he also got caught up in a mess and turned into a scarecrow. 

The policeman came again to make sure he was okay or if there was something bothering him. He insisted that there was no need to hide anything from him or if he needed help, but Raju shouted, stating that “there’s not.” That’s how Vol.5, Chapter 42: Scarecrow Town ended.
