Everything was going absolutely fine in Nick’s life, a member of the Labyrithin city, until one day, it all turned upside down for him. He was taken out of the team he had been part of almost forever that too by his mentor Argus, however, it doesn’t end there. He is also dumped by his girlfriend, Cluadine. 

Disappointed over all this, he tries to change himself and turns into this teeny otaku person and starts following a new idol, Agate. To match this new life of his, he has to have a lot of money for which he needs to work. To do so, he tries to get back into adventuring but fails miserably at that too.

One day luckily, he finds just the similar kind of people he needs in his life, Tiana, who is a sorceress, Zem, who was formerly a priest, and a dragon girl named Curran, all have given up on life just like him. The episode shows a bit of backstory of everyone.

Tiana was always considered a magical prodigy from the start but was backstabbed by her own fiance, who was jealous of her abilities. She halted her studies and became a gambler. She also couldn’t become an adventurer, as she no one wanted to be her teammate because of her scary eyes.

Zem was a priest specializing in healing. It was going all fine until he rejected the idea of advancement when a girl approached him, so she falsely accused him of rape, and he was expelled from his services as a priest. He thought of becoming an adventurer, but he became a drunkard and womanizer instead. 

Currans tells the other that the only person she trusted the most in the whole world stole something from her that broke her trust in humanity. They enjoy their drinks after sharing how humans are just untrustable. Nick, in the end, suggests that they should form an adventuring team together.
